Analyses regarding clauses with a cognate object (CO), e.g. Alice laughed a scornful laugh, have frequently been based on the query: is the CO an adjunct or a complement? This paper aims to contribute to the debate with an alternative suggestion: the CO functions as a noun predicate licensing the subject, to which it assigns a semantic role, whilst the verb functions as a support (a ‘light verb’). A number of the well-known properties of COs, e.g. certain constraints on the determiner, appear to corroborate this analysis. Electrochemically-induced TiO2 incorporation for enhancing corrosion and tribocorrosion resistance of PEO coating on 7075 Al alloy

Abstract 7075 Al alloy was PEO-treated in a silicate based electrolyte containing 3 g l-1 potassium titanyl oxalate using unipolar and bipolar pulsed current waveforms. The coating formed by the bipolar waveform with the wider cathodic pulses showed volcano-like surface morphology with no evidence of large pores at the metal/coating interface. It revealed the highest corrosion performance due to the synergistic effect of TiO2 incorporation and structural/morphological features along with a better passivation behavior indicating no pitting susceptibility. For this coating, the tribocorrosion tests showed no potential drop during sliding under 1 N with the lowest volume loss of 0.022 mm3.
Spatio-temporal Vegetation Recuperation after a Grassland Fire in Lithuania

The aim of this work is to study the spatio-temporal effects of a grassland fire in Lithuania. Immediately after the fire, a experimental plot was designed in a east-faced slope. Vegetation cover and height were measured 10, 17, 31 and 46 days after the fire (vegetation cover was only measured until 31 days after the fire because in the last measurement campaign the plot was completely covered). The results showed that vegetation recovered very fast. Ten days after the fire vegetation cover and height distribution were heterogeneous, decreasing with the time due to vegetation spread. We present a brief update of our model-independent analyses of the b->s data presented in the articles published in Phys. Rev. D96 (2017) 095034 and Phys. Rev. D98 (2018) 095027 based on new data on R_K by LHCb, on R_{K^*} by Belle, and on B_{s,d}-> mu^+ mu^- by ATLAS.

Bakalaura darbs “Dzimtes lomas luterāņu draudzē – “dabiskais” un “tradicionālais”” ir pētījums par to, kā dzimtes lomas tiek definētas un argumentētas kādā Rīgas luterāņu draudzē organizētā pirmslaulību seminārā, vēršot uzmanību uz to, kā veidojas priekšstati un kā dzimtes lomas tiek pamatotas Baznīcā, draudzē, seminārā un semināra apmeklētāju ģimenēs. Caur dzimtes lomām ir iespējams veidot un pamatot noteiktu kārtību sabiedrībā. El contacte amb els aragonesos ha estat un condicionant del lèxic del català del País Valencià. Pretenem mostrar ací amb exemples concrets l’antiguitat d’aquesta influència. Partim del despullament d’un corpus textual format per documentació del s. XIII en llatí, en català, en aragonès i en espanyol. Estudiem una selecció de tres menes de mots extrets d’aqueix corpus: a) mots que, tot i pertànyer l’espanyol general o més tost a les varietats orientals, pogueren arribar al català amb els aragonesos establits al Regne de València des del s. AbstractLet (X,ρ) be a Polish space endowed with a probability measure μ. Assume that we can do Malliavin Calculus on (X,μ). Let d:X×X→[0,+∞] be a pseudo-distance. Consider QtF(x)=infy∈X{F(y)+d2(x,y)/2t}. We shall prove that QtF satisfies the Hamilton–Jacobi inequality under suitable conditions. This result will be applied to establish transportation cost inequalities on path groups and loop groups in the spirit of Bobkov, Gentil and Ledoux.
Research on Acute Toxicity and the Behavioral Effects of Methanolic Extract from Psilocybin Mushrooms and Psilocin in Mice

The pharmacological activities and acute toxicity of the psilocin (PC) and dried residues of the crude extracts of psychotropic mushrooms were investigated in mice. The hallucinogenic substances were effectively isolated, by using methanol, from the species of Psilocybe semilanceata and Pholiotina cyanopus, that were collected in the north-east region of Poland. The chemical analysis of these extracts, which was performed by liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry detection (LC-MS), indicated the presence of psilocin and other hallucinogenic substances, including indolealkylamines and their phosphorylated analogues.
